San Diego Customer Reviews
5.0 from 8 verified Go Ape customers
Real feedback from real San Diego drivers. Every review below comes from someone we actually helped on the road — jump starts in parking lots at 2 AM, lockouts at the grocery store, flat tires on I-5, dead batteries in driveways. We don't sort, filter, or hide low ratings; what you see is what you get.
When you call 877-462-7302, you get the same dispatch team and the same field technicians the people below worked with. Local crew. Local vehicles. Local accountability — every call followed up by a real person from our office.

What San Diego customers tell us most
A few themes show up in almost every review we receive — fast arrival times, clear ETA communication, friendly and respectful technicians, and pricing that matches what we quoted on the phone. We treat those four things as the floor, not the ceiling. If a service call doesn't meet that standard, we'd rather hear about it than not — every email to our contact page gets a real human reply within a business day.
Most of the names you see above are members. The math works out: at $4.17/month ($50/year), one membership easily pays for itself the first time you need a jump start, lockout, or tire change. Members also skip the line during high-volume hours (Friday rush hour, holiday weekends, post-storm) and pay a flat $55 callout instead of full retail. If you're new to roadside coverage and want to read more about how the membership works, start here.
We're proud of the reviews above, but we're also proud of how we handle the rare tough day. If something goes sideways — late ETA, miscommunication, anything — we want to make it right. Call 877-462-7302 and ask for a supervisor; someone from our team will pick up the phone, every time.
How We Collect (and Respond to) Reviews
Where reviews come from
Every review on this page is from a verified Go Ape customer — someone we dispatched to, completed a service for, and invoiced. After every service call, our system automatically sends a one-question follow-up text asking how the experience went. We surface those responses publicly when the customer agrees to share them.
What we don't do
We don't filter, hide, or remove negative reviews. We don't pay for reviews. We don't ask only happy customers for feedback while quietly skipping the unhappy ones. Every customer who completes a service call gets the same follow-up message, and the rating they choose is the rating we honor.
How to leave your own review
The fastest way is the green "Leave a Google review" button at the top of this page — it opens directly to our Google Business Profile review form. You can also find us on Yelp, or reply to the post-service follow-up text we send after every completed call. Reviews of any length and rating are welcome; specific feedback about your technician, ETA, or pricing is the most useful for us internally.
What we do with critical feedback
Every 1- to 3-star review triggers an internal review the next business morning. A supervisor pulls the dispatch logs, the technician's call notes, and the timing data, then reaches out to the customer to understand what went sideways and what we owe them in remediation. Patterns inform retraining; one-off issues get addressed directly. We'd rather hear it loud and learn than have it stay quiet.
Why "James" shows up so often in our reviews
James has been one of our senior field technicians since the early days of the company, and he covers a large slice of the central San Diego dispatch territory. Customers in Hillcrest, North Park, downtown, and the Mission Hills corridor are most likely to be paired with him, which is why his name comes up often in positive reviews. Derrick, Carlos, and Aaron handle East County and South Bay routes; they're equally well-trained and just as committed to the same standards. The technician you get on a given call depends on who's closest at dispatch time, not on a senior-versus-junior distinction inside our team — every Go Ape tech completes the same training program before going on the road, and we re-certify annually on jump-start safety, EV high-voltage handling, and lockout entry tools.
